For the last decade, to see a Rabbit was a rare sight. In the last couple of years they are back, and multiplying at what seems to be alarming rates! Where are the Coyotes when we need them?

Pretty Photo of the Farm
Any time is a good time for a pretty photo. Atop a high hill, you can see clear across the farm. The Blue Ridge mountains stand tall in the background, and a rain storm rolling in.
200 Year Old Tree Falls
Its amazing it survived Katrina, and fell during a wimpy storm just two weeks later. Maybe Katrina still had a role in its demise. I’m sad to see it go…it was amazing to sit under the canopy and think who else might have done the same throughout history, perhaps Civil War soldiers during the battle of Fishers Hill?

Shenandoah River Floods Our Field
In the Wake of Katrina
She blew and blew the roofs clean off a few sheds. This particular shed houses some of our older equipment so no major loss. We had a little damage to the stone house roof but that was easily remedied. Amazingly enough our 200+ year old tree still stands. I was more worried about that then the buildings.
